This year's conference is the launch of our publication 'Future of Unions'.

Despite decline, unions are needed today more than ever with Brexit, automation and globalisation all having far reaching consequences for the future of the word of work. Renewal has to be underpinned by three principles: today’s unions are responsible for putting things right; reflection and debate are a force for good and need to be promoted; structures are a function of purpose. How do we overcome barriers to remain relevant to the whole workforce? The main themes we will cover:

- Launch of the Future of Unions report with responses from across the movement and beyond

Current speakers include: Claire Sullivan, Director of Employment Relations for the CSP, Gavin Kelly from the Resolution Trust

- The Future workforce and unions in conjunction with SPERI

- The Future of Trade Union Education

Current speakers include: Kevin Rowan, Head of Organisation, Services and Skills for the TUC, Mary Bousted, joint at the NEU (ATL section) and chair of Unionlearn

- The Future of Collective Voice and Industrial Strategy

Current speakers include: Mike Clancy, GS for Prospect, Matthew Taylor from the RSA and Karan Loughlin from SIPTU
